Deep Ellum’s iconic frontman The Traveling Man is waiting on a train with his guitar in hand and songs in his heart. Since 2009, The Traveling Man has been welcoming visitors to the cultural heart of Dallas and providing a gateway entrance to the historic Deep Ellum neighborhood. Stretched out and strumming with a clever smile on his face, The Traveling Man shows that he’s an artist with rhythm and spirit. The sculpture’s story combines artistic, musical, and entrepreneurial pursuits to foster a link between the neighborhood’s past and the future. Dallas sculptor Brad Oldham created The Traveling Man – Waiting on a Train in smaller editions, adapting the originally commissioned 18-foot-long sculpture to sizes for home, office, or gifting. Now The Traveling Man – Waiting on a Train can be part of the story you share too.
